Adoption is Not Only for the Rich

There are many reasons why adoption takes place. Generally, yes it is a good and noble undertaking. It can help a poor family raise a child and give a brighter future than what a child would have acquired from a less fortunate beginning. Let’s cite some circumstances where the need for adopting a child comes in.

  • A childless couple needs a child to complete a family.
  • A family needs to add another child, maybe a child of another gender.
  • Adoption is a very positive way of preventing an unwanted baby to be aborted which is a very horrible tragedy (SIN).
  • Kind hearted people just can’t live comfortably while seeing so many children live in poverty around the world so they adopt, wanting to share their love and blessings.
  • A single aging person is a very good subject. I have an unmarried friend who adopted a child and now that child had grown to be a professional with a family of her own.

Adoption gives a child the chance to live a life that would mold him/her to the person that everybody wants to be. There are countless adopted people around the world who grew up conquerors of misfortune and achievers of victory. Some of them are former US Presidents Gerald Ford and Bill Clinton, the Greek Philosopher Aristotle, poet and writer Edgar Allan Poe, world achiever in technology Steve Jobs and many, many more.

Moses delivered the Jewish people to victory out of slavery from Egypt. JESUS’ victory is in us; in those whose hearts are open and big enough to see the needs of others especially children.  Moses and Jesus (Son of God) were both adopted children.

It is evident that adoption existed since the early beginnings of mankind up to the present highly technological evolution. No amount of riches is necessary to reach out and touch somebody’s life.

Hidden emotional pain can be propelled towards success through real and good intentions. This will drive a child to prove his/her worth. Have you heard of parents’ stories that their adopted child grew up more disciplined and trained than their biological children who were more spoiled and carefree? Crisis is what makes an adopted child strong.

Let’s give them a new beginning and hope. Let them dream so that they would work for their dream with faith in God.
